Our Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) team specializes in optimizing tax strategies and ensuring smooth compliance across local and international tax systems. EY’s Tax service is structured into six focused areas—Business Tax Services, Global Compliance & Reporting, Global Law, Indirect Tax, International Tax and Transaction Services, and People Advisory Services—offering comprehensive support for a wide range of business needs.


About the Opportunity

As part of our GCR team in Karachi, you’ll be working alongside highly skilled tax professionals to serve a diverse portfolio of clients across the MENA region. This role is perfect for someone looking to deliver high-quality compliance solutions while leading large, complex projects and guiding a team.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a senior team member, you will lead with both technical expertise and strategic thinking. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team to deliver top-tier tax compliance and reporting services.
  • Overseeing client projects, ensuring deliverables meet timelines, quality standards, and budget.
  • Developing strong, long-term relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Identifying and managing risks while implementing performance-enhancing strategies.
  • Contributing to business development by identifying opportunities and expanding our client network.
  • Creating a positive, high-performing team culture by mentoring and supporting junior staff.
  • Managing project economics, including staffing plans, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Ensuring adherence to EY’s rigorous quality and compliance standards.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking professionals who bring a mix of technical knowledge, leadership experience, and business acumen. If you’re detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in fast-paced, multicultural environments, this could be the ideal role for you.


To Qualify, You Should Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, taxation, or a related field.
  • A professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CTA, ADIT, or a relevant master’s degree (MBA, MCom, etc.).
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience in local and international tax laws, corporate tax, compliance, and financial tax reporting, ideally within a large professional services firm.
  • Solid experience in tax accounting and auditing (preferably with CH2 TARAS exposure).
  • A strong background in team and project management.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with multinational companies or clients across different jurisdictions.
  • A strong understanding of commercial laws, industry-specific regulations, and cross-border tax requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to perform at their best.
